Marybeth Rogers-Drumheller passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, July 6 after battling cancer.
Marybeth dedicated her life to educating children with disabilities. She spent 23 years at the Kennedy Krieger School, starting as a teaching assistant and working her way up to Vice Principal. During this time Marybeth earned two masters degrees, one in Special Education from Johns Hopkins and the other in Reading from Loyola College. In addition to the students, Marybeth served as a mentor teacher, as well as an instructor in the Johns Hopkins Special Education graduate program.
Marybeth’s other loves included singing, the theater,New York, literature, and travel. Her beautiful voice could be heard at many weddings, church services, Christmas concerts, and funerals. Marybeth enjoyed seeing many Broadway shows, especially Hamilton in New York City and traveled to Ireland, Holland, Hawaii, Aruba and her all time favorite Paris. As part of the Disney Vacation Club, she took many family vacations to the Magic Kingdom.
Marybeth found comfort in her family, friends, and faith. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Kevin Drumheller, mother Mary Rogers, father Charles Rogers, sisters Cathleen Maloney and Megan Sar, sister-in-law Holly Butler, brothers-in-law Mickey Maloney, Key Sar, Chris Butler, mother-in-law Diane Drumheller, father-in-law Henry Drumheller, nieces Kelly Maloney, Annie Maloney, Molly Maloney, Lizzie Sar, Katie Butler, and nephews Tommy Maloney, Ryan Sar, and Zac Butler. Marybeth took tremendous pride in all her nieces and nephews accomplishments and loved them with all her heart.
