Gerard E. Morrissey passed away at Sunrise Assisted Living on 6/30/18. Born in Brooklyn, NY on 12/29/37, he was the son of the late Ann and Richard Morrissey. He was a graduate of St. John’s College High School in Washington, DC and a graduate of the University of Maryland. He was a P.G. County police officer for 32 years and an avid bagpipe player. He taught many people how to play the “pipes” and enjoyed every moment of it. He also had a great love for West Highland White Terriers, and was the proud owner of many wonderful dogs throughout the years and even bred and showed a few champions.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rae Jean Morrissey, his daughter Julianne Marshall and her children Jennifer & Ryan Marshall, his daughter Eileen Williams (Keith) and their children, Jake, Faith, Timothy and Christian, as well as his son James and his partner George Laskaris. Also surviving are his two great grand-children, Max Tavenner and Jayden Marshall.
The family will receive visitors at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Crofton, MD on 7/10/18 starting at 10am until mass at 11am; friends and friends and family will gather there after.
