Wendy grew up in Bowie Maryland and, after graduating from Bowie High, worked with her Naval Cartographer Dad at the Defense Mapping Agency. She eventually began working at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where she met her (future) husband Jeff. Wendy and Jeff were married on April 1, 1989. Yes they both chose April Fool's Day, a perfect summary of their playfulness. They were blessed with two wonderful children (Billy and Heather). They moved to Houston to work at NASA Johnson Space Center for almost six years. In addition to working as an admin for the Space Shuttle Program, Wendy's favorite job was working in the Space Suit Systems Branch where the Shuttle Crews' suits were fabricated. She met and worked with several astronauts and made so many friends (a common Wendy theme). Wendy and Jeff wanted to return to Goddard so the family moved back to Maryland. While Wendy had so many health issues throughout her entire life, they never defined who she was. Wendy and her family found a true church home at Trinity Lutheran where Wendy praised the Lord Who redeemed and sustained her. Her love for Christ was always apparent. Spend two minutes talking with her and you would encounter Jesus as well. She really did always put others before herself and blessed so many with her genuine love for her neighbors.
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.'
And he who was seated on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new.' Also he said, 'Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.' And he said to me, 'It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.'"
