Gene Paul Townend

Gene P. Townend, 77, of Bowie, MD passed away early morning Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Forest Hill Heights in Forest Hill, MD.  Memorial service will be held Thursday 5/31 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Beall Funeral Home , 6512 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD. Viewing and funeral services will take place Saturday, 6/2 at 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM respectively, at All Saints Church, 1340 Lancaster Ave, Syracuse, NY. Interment will take place immediately after the funeral service. He will be interred near his loving wife Lorna at St Mary’s Cemetery in Syracuse, NY.Gene Townend served his country for five years in the U.S. Air Force, and the remainder of his professional career was spent at the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, MD. He gave a lifetime of devotion to his family. He is survived by his sister Lyle, his brother Jim, daughter Veronica and husband Allen, and his sons, Mark and wife Chris, and Jeff and wife Prissy. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren: Megan, Kyle and Jake Rolocut, Devon and John Townend, and John Hollis.
