On Sunday, May 13, 2018, Paul Luebkert, Sr. passed away peacefully after a long battle with lung cancer. Paul was born in Washington, DC to Malcolm and Chantal (Brew) Luebkert, the third of four children. Paul is survived by his brothers Robert Luebkert and Malcolm Luebkert, Jr and sister, Joan Kent. The Luebkerts were raised in Cheverly, MD and spent much time in Woodland Beach boating and eating crabs and rockfish. Paul is a graduate of DeMatha Catholic High School. After high school, Paul served in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves. Paul worked at Pepco for some time and then as a delivery driver for several companies. For several years, he was also a private chauffeur for Mrs. Anna Chennault. Driving was a way of life for Paul. He enjoyed taking scenic rides around the region and showing his children historic points of interest. "Rides to nowhere" he'd often call them. In his spare time, he liked to tinker with mechanical things. He was often very creative with his repairs and "inventions." His family was very important to him. Paul leaves behind three daughters and a son: Lori Callahan (and husband, William,) Paul Luebkert, Jr. (and wife, Lorena,) Susan O'Connor, and Mary Truman (and husband, Matthew) Also surviving is his children's mother, Sandra Luebkert. Paul was proud of his nine grandchildren: Robert Callahan, Steven Callahan, Sara Luebkert, Ryan Luebkert, , Kallee O'Connor, James O'Connor, Timothy O'Connor, Alexandra Truman, and Nathan Truman.
