Ida Marie Hardesty

Marie Hardesty, aged 71, died peacefully May 5th, 2018 at her home in Lothian, Maryland. Marie was born March 10th, 1947, in Prince George's County, Maryland, the daughter of Clarence E. Mayhew and Catherine A. Mayhew. Marie grew up alongside four siblings including Roberta G. Vermillion, Ruth Stubbs, Edward Mayhew, and Phyllis A. Moran.   Marie married the love of her life, Ralph Hardesty Sr., September 17th, 1963 in Davidsonville, Maryland. Together they raised three sons, Ralph Jr., Clarence, and Michael. Marie devoted her time to raising her children while maintaining the household. She enjoyed spending time outdoors farming, attending family gatherings, watching tractor pulling, doing seek-and-find puzzles, and crocheting at home. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She will be remembered as a selfless, kind-hearted woman who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need.   Marie is survived by her loving husband Ralph Hardesty Sr.; sons Ralph Hardesty Jr. and his wife Leslie, Clarence Hardesty and his wife Heidi; grandchildren Krystle Harrington, Britni Hardesty, Hailey Hardesty, Michael A. Hardesty, and Michael J. Hardesty; 4 great grand-children; sisters Roberta G. Vermillion and Phyllis A. Moran, and several nieces and nephews.   She will be missed more than words can express for she was loved by so many.  For those unable to attend the scheduled viewing and memorial service, Saturday May 12th from 2-4p.m., please feel free to share photos, personal stories and sign the online guestbook.
