Robert (Bobby) Dennis, 74 passed away peacefully after battling cancer on March 10, 2018. Robert was born on May 31, 1943 in Stuart, Florida to Orcenia R. Dennis and Daniel L. Dennis. Robert grew up in a military family. He graduated from Munich American High School in Munich, Germany in 1961. There he was on the wrestling team and was named the Munich Teen Club chess champ. In 1963 his family moved to Washington, DC and Robert enlisted in the US Army. Robert served in the US Army from 1963-1993 (retired). During this time Robert served in the Vietnam War he earned several medals including the Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea) and a Army Commendation Medal. He was station and lived in Korea for several years. During this time, he met his wife, Vivian Dennis and they were married on August 16, 1978. Together, they have enjoyed nearly 40 years of marriage, raised two children and over the years have gone on to be the proud and accomplished owners of several businesses. Robert enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, playing chess, reading, traveling, cooking and baking. He especially enjoyed making a certain "chocolate cake" for his grandson every Thanksgiving. Robert is preceded by his parents, Orcenia R. Dennis and Daniel L. Dennis, his younger brother, Thaddeus Dennis and his daughter, Nicole Dennis. Robert is survived by his wife, Vivian Dennis, of Bowie, MD his son and daughter in-law, Anthony Dennis and Jeanne Jeffrey, of Crofton, MD his grandson, Jayden Dennis of Crofton, MD, his sister, Christine Dennis LeFlore of Silver Spring, MD and his niece, Danielle LeFlore of Upper Marlboro, MD.
