Stanley Grant Moore

Stanley Grant Moore died peacefully in Charlotte Hall Veterans Home on February 15th, 2018 in Charlotte Hall, MD at the age of 89.  Stanley is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Freland of Bowie, MD and her daughters, Alyssa Thomas and Andrea Bean; his son, Thomas Moore (Debbie Lehan) of Bowie, MD and his sons, Thomas Moore Jr. and Andrew Moore; his daughter, Lisa Sandberg (Robert "Charlie" Sandberg) of Ellington, CT and her daughter Lara Greenberg and her son Kyle Sandberg. Stanley has two great grandsons, Riley Moore and Charles Greenberg. Stanley was born on April 17th, 1928 in Cass City, Michigan to Phillip and Eva (Martin) Moore. After graduating from Cass City High School in 1945, he then entered the Navy,  where he completed 20 years of service. He met Germaine (Terri) Rondeau in Great Lakes, Illinois, while both were serving in the military. On a dare, he asked her to dance and they married three months later on March 28th,1952. While in the military, they lived in Hawaii, among other places. During the course of his service, Stanley was deployed off the coast of Vietnam and Japan on the USS Mars as a chief petty officer. Stanley and Terri eventually moved to Bowie, MD, setting down and growing roots. After retiring from the military in 1967, Stanley worked 20 years at Blue Cross/Blue Shield. He subsequently retired again and thereafter worked for Montgomery Ward for 10 years, selling furniture.  A funeral to commemorate Stanley is scheduled for February 24th, 2018 at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy., Bowie, MD 20715 with a reception to follow. Father Potts will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Stanley’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
