Betty L. Farrar

Betty L. Farrar, 79, of Bowie MD, was received into the loving arms of the Lord January 25, 2018 after a long, brave battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the daughter of Vernon and Elizabeth Farrar of Oxford NC; beloved mother of Linda and James Marks; cherished grandmother of Corbin and Olivia.A graduate of the Women’s College, University of North Carolina Greensboro with a Bachelor’s degree in Art, her career focused on Publishing and Typesetting Sales across the country.  Centering her life around her family, she enjoyed painting, flower arranging, museums, ice skating, skiing, sailing, gardening, camping, traveling, and adventures of all kinds.Betty was known for her sweet, soft southern voice, heartwarming hugs, her kind and generous heart, and her easy ability to turn everyone she met into a dear friend.Visitation: 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 31, 2018 at Beall Funeral Home 6521 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD  20715. Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 31, 2018 following visitation.Interment: 2:00 p.m. Thursday February 1, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Ave. Raleigh, NC 27611.
