Tanya Lea Rainey-Howard

October 16, 1955 — January 20, 2018

Tanya's family was originally from Madagascar and settled in Gainesville, Virginia.  Mother, Loretta Lee Martin, married Robert L. Watson and moved to Washington, DC where Tanya Lea Watson was born on October 16, 1955.  Adopted by her mother’s second husband, Carleton E. Rainey, her name then changed to Tanya Rainey. Tanya attended college at Howard University then started working. She was previously married and gave birth to Leslie Lewis Benjamin Charles Jr. (Chucky), Bradford Eddie Chambers, Crystal Latanya Broxton aka Precious Latanya Joubert, and Ian Trevor Broxton.Tanya met Jerry Napolean Howard in October of 1984 after witnessing to him about Jehovah God and the Paradise Earth. She later married him on February 8, 1986 after two years of dating and studying the Bible together.  They enjoyed 33 years of marriage together.Tanya started studying the Bible in 1975 and eventually got baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on February 6, 1988.  She started a long and wonderful spiritual career of 42 years, served 20 years as a Regular Pioneer teaching others how to benefit from Bible truths and dedicating their lives to Jehovah God. Tanya also volunteered in Kingdom Hall Construction Projects and attended two International Conventions in Hawaii and Japan. In addition to Bible teaching, Tanya enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to sing and perform, recently releasing her latest album of original songs. In preparing for this sad occasion, Tanya thoroughly planned for the comfort of her family with strong faith and the resurrection hope in mind. For now, we will all miss Tanya's smiling face but she will be looking for YOU when she wakes up in PARADISE!
