Myles O'Reilly was a devoted family man, in his own way a loving father, and renown for his sense of humor and love of both his immediate an extended family.Myles was one of 9 children, having 5 brothers and 3 sisters, all older than him, some by quite a bit. His own Dad passed away when he was seven, and his big brother Bobby became a father figure to him. His mother Emily, who knows how, raised nine kids as a single mom in the 1940's and 1950's. Dad was an adventurous kid, he said his mother barely ever knew what he was up to, as being a single mom in the 1940s and having 9 kids will do that. He spent a lot of time having fun, creating mischief and trying questionable ways of making money for the family. He grew up, graduated High School, then joined the Air Force where he traveled the world quite a bit. He eventually landed back in Massachusetts where he worked a bunch of short-term jobs, while trying to figure out what he was going to do with his life. He found work with Burroughs Corp. where he fixed all types of machines, and quickly became the key repairman in the company. Customers said, "If Myles can't fix it, it ain't broke." Through this job he met Joan Duffany, who he eventually married. Myles and his wife Joan eventually had five children, four girls and one boy, who grew to share the love of family and laughter that was instilled in them by their father. Myles in his younger years didn't as easily give out "I love you" and hugs and kisses, but as he grew with his children, learned together to show their love more openly. Myles was a devoted family man, very proud of his Irish heritage, who loved to make others laugh. He was a loving, kind and sweet man. If angels have a sense of humor, Myles will be very happy in heaven. In lieu of sending flowers, we ask you view Myles' memorial page and donate to the cause of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, from which he and 6 of his siblings died.
