Robert (Bob) Johnson, of Bowie, Md., went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Louise Maehler Johnson, four children, Nancy (John) Cox, Steve (Debbie) Johnson, Anne (Dale) Armstrong and Rebecca (Scott) Felter, as well as thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Bob was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1927 and moved to Washington, D.C. in the sixth grade. He accepted Christ as His Lord and Savior at the age of 13. In 1950, after college and Army service, he married Louise, his childhood friend and sweetheart. He and Louise served as missionaries in Indonesia until 1964. He then returned with his family to the DC area, where he worked for the Defense Department as a linguist and computer analyst until his retirement. His life’s goal was always to glorify God, and to share the love of Christ and the truth of God’s word. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Belcroft Bible Church, 13000 Beechtree Lane, in Bowie, with visitation at 10:15 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a light lunch. The family requests no flowers.
