Frank L. Terenyi, of Annapolis died on Christmas day, a day that he loved, surrounded by friends and family. He was an Alumni of Bladensburg High School, Korean War Army Veteran, Volunteer Firefighter, Newspaper Pressman, Police Commissioner, Town Council Member, Mayor of Colmar Manor, Maryland, and active member of First Baptist Church of Crofton. Activities that brought him joy included: train collecting, tinkering in his workshop, playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years, classic movies - and especially reading the newspaper every single day. After retirement, he especially loved staying engaged with any and all forms of newsprint. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Merle Terenyi, in 2011, his best friend and love of his life. He is survived by his children, Brenda Sears and husband Steve of Bowie, John Terenyi and wife Kathy of Raleigh, NC, and Thomas Terenyi and wife Lisa of Severn. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Thomas Terenyi, II, Joseph Terenyi, James Terenyi, Frank Sears, and Christopher Terenyi, along with his six great-grandchildren, Aidan, Sarayah, Israel, Kathryn, Faith, and Miah. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday December 29, 2017 and from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Crofton, 1690 Crofton Parkway, Crofton, MD. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017. If desired, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
