Leinster H. Ward, Sr.

Leinster Henry Ward, Sr, 77, affectionately known as “Limp” in his hometown of Durham, North Carolina, passed away in his sleep at home on Friday, December 1, 2017 in Laurel, Maryland. He was born January 28, 1940 to Mae Ward in Durham, North Carolina.  On March 11, 1960 he married the former Patricia Thelma Melvin in Washington, D.C. Survivors include his wife Patricia; his 2 sons, Leinster Jr in Laurel, Maryland, and Christopher in San Diego, California; 3 grandchildren Elaina, Shari and Ashley; 2 great-grandchildren Julyssa and Aaliyah; brothers Lewis in New York, Conrad in South Carolina and Roger in North Carolina; sisters Doris in Washington, DC and Shirley in North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; mother-in-law Lillian Melvin; and 1 brother Robert Ward. Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 10am to 11am at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Hwy (Rt 3 South) followed by a funeral service at 11am. Interment at a later date.
