Carol Thompson Reynolds, age 68, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born June 12, 1949 in Bluefield West Virginia along with her twin brother James E. Thompson Jr. She was blessed with loving parents James E. Thompson Sr. and Beatrice Daily Thompson. She graduated from Bladensburg High school in 1968 and began her life long career as an Accounting specialist. Carol had a true knack for balancing the books, and prioritizing budgets. For the first 37 years of her career she worked at Auth Brothers Food Service, she then finished out the last 13 years of her career with Joseph Smith and Sons. She married neighbor, and high school sweetheart Richard M. Reynolds Sr. on July 5, 1975, and together they had one child Richard M. Reynolds Jr. Carol was incredibly hardworking, dedicated and, truly selfless. Her happiness was in seeing other people happy. One of her proudest moment was watching her son get married, and knowing that he was truly happy. In that marriage Carol gained the daughter she always wished she could have, and a true best friend in Brittney M. Reynolds. The family went on many adventures together, spending time in the dew topped mountains of Virginia, and the sandy shores of North Carolina's Outer Banks. She cherished going on these road trips with "her kids" and lived for each and every moment. She was a caring wife to her husband, and mother-in-law, Florene Mediros, who also lived with Carol. She provided a happy, safe, and pleasant home for the two for the past 17 years. Over the years Carol had many friends, and claimed many of her sons friends as if they were her own children. Those people will always remember her bright smile, and her sweet laugh. In her passing we are challenged to carry on her bright spirit, to continue to grow, and to always be kind and compassionate to others. Carol was preceded in death by her mother Beatrice D. Thompson (Apr. 28, 2006) her brother James E. Thompson Jr (Sep. 11, 2008) and her father James E. Thompson Sr (Dec. 24, 2016). She is survived by her loving husband Richard M. Reynolds Sr, her son Richard M. Reynolds Jr, her mother-in-law Florene Mediros, and her daughter-in-law Brittney M. Reynolds. A private family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Carols life. In lieu of flowers please make a charitable donation to The American Heart society in her honor.
