Mrs. Iyabode Olayinka Oyetunji was born on the 5th day of April 1955 to Late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kukoyi in Lagos, Nigeria. She was the eldest of nine children (6 boys and 3 girls). Mrs. Iyabode Olayinka Kukoyi got married in 1979 to Mr. Abiola Oyetunji and this union was blessed with 5 children and 9 grandchildren. She attended Baptist High School Lagos, Nigeria and proceeded to Lagos State Catering School to pursue her passion—cooking. She came to the United States in 1996 and worked with the Board of Education PG County for the past 20 years and also worked at Living Hope Inc. for 12 years. She was a very dedicated and hardworking worker and was fondly called by her co-workers as Ms. O! She was an amazing mother and extraordinary wife. She was such a kind and gentle soul with so much to offer the world. Always looking for the good in everyone and helping all even when she has absolutely nothing to actually give. She was very selfless, caring, loving, hopeful, hardworking with excellent virtue. She worked so hard to make her family and all those around her comfortable. She loved to cook and would feed the whole neighborhood if she could. If there was an award for the most hospitable human being in the world, she would get it. She taught her children to always give with an open heart and to know that whatever act of kindness is for God not people. She was an example of an Angel and now that she is gone to the Lord, she will continue to watch over all of us as our Guardian Angel. She was a mother to all, a lover of God and a blessing to so many. She will be dearly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, brothers, sister, other family members and friends.
