Kathleen (Kay) Jane Kaderabek, age 86 of Seabrook, MD passed away peacefully with family present on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. She was born to the late Peter James Reedy and Alvina Petska Reedy on April 29, 1931 in Maribel, Wisconsin. Kathleen attended Maribel Grammar School and Denmark High School in Denmark, Wisconsin. Kathleen was married to Eugene (Bud) Thomas Kaderabek (deceased) on May 8th, 1950 in Saint James Catholic Church in Cooperstown, Wisconsin. Kathleen (and Bud) moved to Washington, DC right after their marriage and Kathleen worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Shortly after arriving in Washington, Kay and Bud started a family. A consummate mother and homemaker, Kathleen was also an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals, cakes and pastries for her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of St. Matthias Catholic Church in Lanham. She was very active within the Ladies Sodality, Ladies Altar Society, Ladies of Charity- St. Matthias, the Knights of Columbus Mother Seton Council #5381 Ladies Auxiliary as well as other duties. After raising a family and soon after the death of her husband, Kathleen went back to work in 1988 with the United States Department of the Interior as an Administrative Clerk at Greenbelt National Park -a job she was very proud and fond of. She worked there for 16 years until her retirement in 2004. Kathleen is preceded in death by her brothers James, Ralph and Thomas along with her sisters Delores and Anne.
