Richard K. Fowler

December 27, 1969 — October 7, 2017

Richard Karl Fowler was born on December 27, 1969, in Forestville Maryland to the parents of Richard M. Fowler and Judith A Skinner. He is survived by his mother and step father, Claude Skinner. When he was four years old the family moved to Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. His dear father passed away when Rich was only 14 years old. He was his father’s shadow. Richard could be found everywhere his dad was. He missed his dad dearly every day. After his dad’s death, he moved to Laurel, Maryland, and lived there for a few years. He eventually married and moved to Fredericksburg, Virginia. He longed to be back in the country and finally landed a home in Frederick. He loved the Frederick area. His home was on the top of a mountain, the view was amazing; this gave him such peace just to be outside and one with Nature. Richard had sparkling blue eyes that you couldn’t help but love, his charm and charisma was noticed as soon as he walked into a room. His life was difficult, he experienced many tough times but he always looked for a way to make the best of every situation. He had a heart of gold. Rich always provided words of encouragement to those who needed it. He would do just about anything for anyone.   His sarcasm, always delivered with a smirky grin, will be deeply missed by those who knew him. He could fix just about anything. His keen mechanical sense of how things went together was astonishing. His love was with Nature, always longing to surround himself with beautiful scenery. It brought peace to his soul. Things he loved: Mom’s tomato dumplings, chip beef gravy, camping, driving, landscaping, plants, and chocolate. Most of all he loved West Virginia! Rest in peace, fly free!!! Rich may no longer with us in body, but his spirit surrounds us.
