September 26, 1967- August 17, 2017 Roy Fell died at his home in Crofton, Md. of a sudden massive heart attack. He was 51. Fell was the only child of Reid and Mildred Fell who adopted him in 1967. " As a child, Roy was full of energy and mischief," said cousin Roberta Ahmanson. In the 25 years since his mothers death in 1990, Fell faithfully cared for his father until his death in October 2014. Since then, Fell lived in the family home and pursued his interests in computers and coin collecting. He also had a special fondness for Rips restaurant as he had dined there many times with his father. Fell grew up in Bowie and then Crofton, Maryland. He particularly enjoyed the years of going to his family's condo at the beach in Ocean City, Md. Both of Fell's parents had grown up in Perry, Iowa, and when Fell was a child there were many family trips to the Heartland to visit his grandparents, Ruth Fell and Arthur and Helen Olsen. They stayed with his mother's sister, Virginia, her husband, Earl Green, and their daughter Roberta. The family also frequently traveled to Houston, Texas, to visit his mother's sister, Dorothy, her husband, Harold Gilson, and their two children, Harold and Mary. Once again, Fell enjoyed visits to the seashore in Galveston and the Gilson's ranch in central Texas. Fell is survived by three first cousins: Roberta Green Ahmanson (husband Howard Ahmanson) of Irvine, CA; Harold Gilson (wife Juli Gilson) of Kingsland, Texas and Mary Gilson Carwardine (husband Peter Carwardine) of Calgary, Alberta. He is also survived by five cousins once removed; Amber Gilson LeDoux of San Marcos, Texas; Gray Gilson Bulman of Austin Texas; Laura Carwardine of Toronto, Ontario; Andrew Carwardine of Calgary, Alberta; and David Ahmanson of Los Angeles, California. Graveside services will be held at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, Maryland at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 25th. The Reverend Elizabeth Mclean of Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church in Crofton will officiate. Arrangements were coordinated by Beall Funeral Home, Bowie Maryland. The family wishes to thank the members of Prince of Peace Presbyterian church for their loving kindness to Roy and especially to Robert Powers who continually served Christ by walking beside, mentoring and befriending Roy. Well done good and faithful servant.
