Robert “Bob” Douglas Miller, Arundel High School, Class of 1972, from Odenton, MD who resided in Bowie, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 19th at the age of 62. A loving, husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend, he is survived by his wife of 39 years, Peggy Miller, his brother and sister-in-law, Ric & Teresa Miller; his daughter and son-in-law, Kristy Miller-Burke & Sterlind Burke and 5 year old grandson Greyson; his son, daughter in law, and inherited daughter-in-law, Adam Miller, Helen Overman, and Kathleen Overman. He is also survived by his nephew, CPT. Robert Kenneth "Kenny" Miller and his wife Niki. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Betty Miller, of Odenton, as well as his nephew, Joseph Daniel "Danny" Miller. Bob epitomized hard work and supporting his family. He worked in the commissary business early in his career, expanding into a sales career that included mattresses, mobile homes, gameday merchandising with the Redskins and DC United, food brokerage, as well as his most beloved concert gigs with BroCo Merchandising. He was greatly looking forward to supporting the reopening of Hammerjacks in early 2018. Bob greatly enjoyed spending time with his friends, always making time to support others with a smile, a laugh, a hug, a story, a favor, whatever they needed. He particularly enjoyed working with the Class of ‘72 reunion committees at Arundel and staying connected with fellow ‘military brats.’ A fast and vastly loyal friend, he personified ‘paying it forward.’ Bob loved music, especially classic rock; he loved to remind people that, although he may be old(er), he’d seen all the great bands! He celebrated the marriage of his son Adam in June 2016 and his daughter Kristy in April 2017. We are thankful for the five amazing years of memories he built with his grandson Greyson, memories we will cherish forever. Bob will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, he was an amazing, loving spirit taken far too soon….
