Ross Phillip Ogilvie Sr. (Age 57) found peace on the morning of Sunday, July 16th after an admirable battle with cancer where he fought every step of the way. The bravery he displayed was an inspiration to countless people across the world, and his legacy will live on in the memories of those who knew him. Ross joins his parents Eleanor and Richard Ogilvie; and siblings Laura, Gloria, and Richie; who have passed before him. He is survived by his two children, Tiffany and Ross Jr; along with his four siblings, Madeline, Scott, George, and Jessica. He was a devoted father, loving brother, and loyal friend. He took pride in serving his country with his twenty-two years spent in the USMC, and continued that dedication after his retirement in his 18 years of work with AMVETS helping disabled veterans. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Ross' honor at amvetsnsf.org/donations. Select "in memory/honor of" from the drop down menu and put a note in the message box that the donation is in his honor.. These donations will be split across two major causes, one that assists disabled veterans in VA hospitals across the country (Healing Heroes), and another that provides scholarships to young service memebers. Ross championed these causes in life, and we want to continue his commitment to serving the military even with his passing.
