It is with great sadness that the family of Rose Marie Hammond announces her passing after a brief illness, on Wednesday July 12, 2017, at the age of 89. Born July 10, 1928, Rose Marie Sears, eldest daughter of Chuck B Sears and Hilda Shores Crockett was born in Hopewell VA. She was the owner of the restaurant Bilotta's Villa in Hyattsville MD and co-owner of Hilda Crockett's Chesapeake House on Tangier Island VA with her sisters Edna Sears and Bette Nohe. Rose enjoyed traveling, cooking, crocheting, playing Farmtown on Facebook, watching Jimmy Swaggert on SBN but most of all spending time with her family.She is survived and will be forever remembered by her younger sister Edna Sears of Tangier Island VA, her children that she referred to as her "Five Little Peppers and my how they grew" Patricia Hughes Mayer of Bowie, MD, Bill Parks of Tangier Island VA, Terry Greene West Point, VA, Frank Bilotta Jr. of Delmar MD and Debbie McKinney of DE. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren Bill, Mike, Susan, Anthony, Bill Shoot, Carlton, Kahla, Kara, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Daniel, Carlton and April, several great grandchildren (too many to list), 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rose is pre-deceased by her parents Chuck B. Sears and Hilda Shores Crockett, her sister Bette Bee Nohe, her daughter Valerie Sue, her husbands Francis A. Bilotta Sr., and Donald Hammond.
