Surmonthia L. King

Surmonthia L. King (NEE: Luck) was born on June 25, 1912, in Seagrove, North Carolina to Sylvanus and Ella Buckner Luck. On July 8, 2017 Surmonthia King transitioned naturally from this earthly realm to the presence and loving arms of her blessed Savior. Surmonthia was a part of Mt. Sinai Holy Churches of America, serving as a minister of the gospel in Freeport, NY. She moved back to North Carolina in her mid thirties to care for her ailing parents. There she attended Mt. Zion Holy Church in Asheboro, North Carolina a part of Mt. Sinai Holy Churches of America, where she remained active in ministry until moving to Washington, D.C. In 1949, she married the late Henderson L. King and from that marriage three children were born, Marie, Clara (deceased), and Agnes.
