Dale Ernest Farley, 84, formerly of Warren, Michigan passed away peacefully in his home on July 1, 2017 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on June 23, 1933 to Ernest and Clara Farley in Warren, Michigan. After high school graduation he joined the U.S. Airforce and was stationed in Anchorage, AK where he met and married Helen Spittler in March of 1954. Together they returned to Warren, MI. where they would begin raising a family of five children; Dale James, Clifford Ernest, Brenda Rene, Lori Kay, and Russell Williams. He would join the Warren Fire Department in 1963 where he would serve until 1973. At that time he felt a call to Christian service and left the department to enter full-time ministry. Over the next 27 years Dale and Helen would pastor five different churches, first in Hopewell Jct. NY, then Shokan, NY, Cheboygan MI, Houghton Lake, MI, and Pinconning, MI. Dale is remembered by family and friends as a lover of Jesus, whom he called his Lord and Savior. He is remembered by many to have a great sense of humor, but he is remembered fondly for his passion for praying for those in the mission field around the world. He and Helen would spend much of their mornings praying for, and encouraging many missionary families. They would send cards, and letters, and receive news back from those families, which were filled with joy that they were remembered in their labor. He was preceded in death by his sisters Genevieve Jacquay, Laurine Kohler, Ruth Sattler, and Glenda Gibson all of Warren, Michigan. Also, his youngest son Russell Williams. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Helen, his two sons Dale and Clifford, and two daughters Brenda and Lori. He leaves a legacy, footsteps to follow, to his 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
