Dr. Lita Bautista Lerma, MD, age 86, died on Monday, June 26, 2017. Dr. Lerma was the daughter of Ciriaco Lerma and Lucila Bautista Lerma, both deceased, from the Philippines. She obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Santo Tomas in 1959. She immigrated to the United States in 1960 and became a United States citizen. She practiced and taught medicine throughout the DC area and was currently practicing at Buckley’s Renewal center in Bethesda. She resided in Bowie Maryland and was a cherished member of Sacred Heart Church. She is survived by her sister-in-law Amalia Carino Lerma, her niece Lilia Lerma Diaz and her husband Abner Diaz, their children Evan, Kurt and Isabel, her nephew Ramon Carino Lerma, Jr. and his wife Elisa Esmeralda Lerma, their children Monalisa Beatrice, Gabriel, and Monica Beatrice. Dr. Lerma was predeceased by her brother Ramon Bautista Lerma Sr. A Funeral Service in memory of Dr. Lerma will be on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel in Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD 21035. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Dr. Lerma can be made to the National Eye Institute, a part of the National Institute of Health.
