Mary J. Nixon

Mary J Nixon was born in Washington, DC on July14, 1929, to her Irish Father Robert James Nixon and Italian Mother Lillie Oliveri Nixon. She was the eldest of four children, Brother James (Tooie) Nixon, (deceased) Brother Charles H Nixon and Sister Elizabeth (Liz) Parness. She is also survived by 11 Nieces, Nephews and their family Mary attended Eastern HS, and Columbia Union College. She began. Her career working at Hadley Clinic in SW DC. Later working at Hadley Hospital in SE DC. Her most rewarding job was in Research at the Pathology Department at Children's Hospital for many years. At the end of her career she did medical transcribing for Washington Adventist Hospital. Mary was a Devoted Seventh Day Adventist Christian throughout her life and was very involved in the ministry of the church. After her Faith was her Unconditional Love and Devotion to her family. She was the family health and prayer warrior. She was an avid reader, loved poetry, art museums and music which. she instilled in others. She looked forward to summer vacations at the ocean with her parents, brothers, sister their families as well as aunts, cousins and friends. Holidays were a family tradition each year and she always did something special for all as her family grew from six to 30+. Mary’s life was dedicated to others whether family or friend. After her mother passed away she lived with family members. She then needed additional care and moved into Regency Park Assisted Living in Gambrills, Md. where she was a resident for 5 years. During that time she made many friends she considered it her home and family. She touched many at Regency. During her last days she was visited by many of the staff stopping by to tell her how she had impacted their life. Her family and friends are Blessed to have had her in their lives and will continue her legacy until we see her again at the coming of Jesus.
