Betty J. Pounsberry

Betty Jane Pounsberry, age 85, of Selbyville DE (formerly a long time resident of Upper Marlboro), passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. She was the daughter of Sydney and Mae Windsor. She was born on November 6, 1931 and was raised in Landover, Md. She graduated from Bladensburg High School in 1950.Betty was a devoted wife and mother. She worked at two plant nurseries and at Queen Anne School in the cafeteria. She was very well liked by all the students she came into contact with. She loved to joke and have fun with all of the students. Betty was a mother and a friend to many people. She loved her church and never lost faith in God.Betty had many things she enjoyed including her cat named " Boo ", going to the yard sale, shopping, watching her Redskins and gardening. She got very excited last spring when she was asked to help with the gardening and washing windows at Brandywine Senior Living were she resided. She said she liked to help because it made her feel like she had a purpose and no one knows how to water plants like she does.Betty is survived by her 3 sons, Richard (Rick), Ronald (Butch) (Sheree) and David; 2 daughters Patricia Gott (Gregg) and Dawn Witchey (Steven); 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  She is survived by 2 sisters Ruby and Dora.She will be fondly remembered by many different people for the many ways she touched there lives.
