Rebecca Berg Brophy

Rebecca Berg Brophy, age 52, of Gambrills, MD passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017, after a brave and prayerful battle with brain cancer. She was the daughter of Ronald and Carol Berg, born on May 4, 1965, in Providence hospital in Washington DC. She grew up in Bowie, MD, graduated from Bowie High School in 1983, and went to on to pursue her accounting degree at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD.Rebecca was a devoted wife and mother, which she considered her most important work. Most recently, she was a Senior Accountant at ClearView Group LLC, an accounting and management consulting group in Hunt Valley, MD.  Rebecca was also a loving and loyal friend to many.  Some of here many gifts were her intelligence, honesty, determination, and kindness.  She never lost her fighting spirit or her faith in God. Early on, she was active in competitive sports especially swimming and volleyball.  She also loved her dogs, walking, reading, gardening, and had recently taken up knitting. Rebecca also enjoyed many magical trips with her family and friends to Disney World. She made many new friends through her activity on the Disney message boards and helped others plan their Disney trips.She is survived by Charles Brophy, her beloved husband of 27 years; and her two beloved sons: Sean a mechanical engineer, of Fort Worth, TX; and Connor a civil engineer, of Gambrills, MD.  Both earned their engineering degrees at Lehigh University in PA.  She is also survived by her loving parents Ronald and Carol Berg, Ph.D., of Bowie, MD, her brother Ronald Berg Jr., and his wife Laura, of Owings, MD, and many other close friends and family members.Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 6 to 8:00pm at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD.  A Mass of Christian of Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 10am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1800 Seton Dr. Crofton, MD.  Interment, Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD.
