Joan M. Newby

Joan O’Connor Newby, 89, of Bowie Md. returned to her heavenly home on June 4, 2017.  Joan was born to John and Maude O’Connor, an Irish Catholic family in Springfield, Massachusetts.  Joan was married to John James Newby and was blessed with a large loving family.  Four children, Catherine (Jim McDonald), Ann, Joan (Scott Horstkamp) and Michael (Dana).  Eleven grandchildren, Bobby, Brian, Tricia, Heather, Steven, Justin, Gary, Christopher, Danielle, Devin, and Dylan.  Nine great grandchildren, Yesenia, Yohanna, Yasmin, Mariana, Robert, Eileen, Jameson, Quinn, and Jolene. She was a devoted Catholic and prayed the rosary daily.  Family will receive friends at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 3 to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 14720 Annapolis Rd. Bowie, MD on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10am. Interment, Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
