Richard Lawrence Farr “Dick” (Age 84) On Friday, May 19, 2017, Richard “Dick” Farr passed away peacefully with his family by his side.  Born August 4, 1932 in Steubenville, Ohio, the son of Panfilo and Carmella Pizzoferrato.  He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Theresa “Terry” Schiappa Farr of Bowie, MD, his daughter Lisa (Thomas) Donahue of Mechanicsville MD, son Richard “Rick” Farr of Bowie, MD, his grandchildren Daniel (Tiara) Farr, Katelyn Farr, Zachary Donahue and Marisa Donahue.  Dick attended Catholic Central High in Steubenville, Ohio lettering in both football and baseball. After graduating he attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio and Steubenville College in Steubenville, Ohio.  In 1952 he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce where he served honorably during the Korean War.  After serving, he moved to the D.C. area and began work for the Department of Defense (The Pentagon, and NSA) until his retirement.  Dick was a resident of Bowie for 55 years.  He was a dedicated coach for the Bowie Boys and Girls club and the Bowie Beginning Ice Hockey Program.  He is also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Parish, Millersville 55 Club, Belair Bath and Tennis Club, The Phoenix Society, University of MD Terrapin Club, and the Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity.  Dick was an artist who enjoyed travel, sports, the beach, cooking and gardening, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN or Sacred Heart Parish in Bowie, MD.
