Priscilla E. Hamilton

May 15, 1932 — March 22, 2017

The late Mrs. Priscilla Elizabeth Ojumiri Hamiltion was born on May 15th, 1932 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Her parents, Mr. Kainde Jacob Cole and Mrs. Jemima Eliza Cole had six children. She is the third of their six children. Out of the six, she has one living sibling, a sister, Oseh Christiana Cole. She married John Chrisostom Eku Hamilton in Freetown, Sierra Leone. They were blessed to have two children, Rodney and Gloria (Genevieve). She worked as a secretary at Guma Valley Water Company in Freetown, Sierra Leone. She came to the United States in April 1990 two weeks before her first grandchild was born. She was blessed to have six grandchildren: Cheryl, Fiona, Rodney, Christopher, Neidel and Chrisria. She is known as Lala to her grandchildren and loved them all very much. Each of them had the pleasure of being spoiled by her. She made it her duty to have a close relationship with them in which she nurtured and prayed for them at all times. The love, morals and values she instilled in all of her grandchildren will never be forgotten as well as her amazing cooking skills! She was a joyful and prayerful woman who loved her family very much. She enjoyed her social life and took pride in being a part of Mother’s Union and Annie Walsh Old Girls Association. Lala has been a voice of wisdom to many individuals and has always been the pillar of support to many. It was her innate ability to speak to anyone regardless of age or status as an equal, which allowed her to become such an influential person to so many individuals. Lala being the social butterfly she was composed of a very extensive social network of close family and friends. She was always receiving requests to make appearances at one event or another because of her joyful spirit and positive energy. Although her request list was long she always made an effort to appear at every social gathering she could. Lala is an astounding woman of God who will always be remembered by those she touched. This earth is not her home. Let us not worry, for Lala is with the Lord our God, our savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
