Helen Amy Cordes

CROFTON, MD - Helen Smith Cordes, age 93, passed away on March 11, 2017, at the Crofton Care and Rehab Center in Crofton, MD.  She was born in Washington, DC.  She served during WWII in the US Marine Corps Woman's Reserve.  Her contribution to the Country in time of need and her dedication to family were most important to her.  She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Eugene, her three children, Michael Cordes of Crofton, MD, Bob (Liz) Cordes of Easton, MD, and Suzanne Cordes of Crownsville, MD.  She is also survived by two grandchildren, Bobby (Kelly) Cordes of Easton, MD and David Cordes of Battle Creek, MI, and one great grandchild.  Viewing and prayers will be held at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD 20715 on Friday from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.  A reception will follow at her daughter's home in Crownsville.  Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the DAV, Salvation Army, or your local ASPCA.
