Diana Maria Wilkey

Diana Maria Santina Gishlaine was born in Liege Belgium on May 2nd, 1931 to Karl and Emilia "Mimi" Wibrin. Leige is a city along the Meuse River in Belgium's French-speaking Walloon region. Diana grew up in Belgium during a time of war and hardship. In 1947, Diana married Rafael Mirabal Borges. Diana and Rafael moved to his hometown of Caracas, Venezuela and they had one child together, Diana Emilia Elisa. They susbsequently divorced and Diana moved back to Liege and became a model and actress. In Liege, Diana met and  married Kenneth Lee Wilkey in 1957. Diana and Ken moved to Ken's hometown, Stillwater, Oklahoma and she had two more children: Karina Lynn and Sharon Leigh. Ken went into the hotel business and they moved around to locations throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and Virginia and lived in hotels for many years. Diana spent many years in the hotel business, as well, working as a concierge. After 27 years, Diana and Ken divorced and Diana settled in the Washington, DC area. Diana is preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Mimi. She is survived by her daughters: Diana Mirabal of Venezuela, Karina Wilkey of Crofton, MD, and Sharon Wilkey Daly and son-in-law, Michael Daly of California, MD. Her three grandchildren: Veronica Fumero Mirabal, Karina Fumero Mirabal, and Miguelangel 'Mickey' Vasquez Mirabal. Her two great grandchildren: David Alejandro Montilla Fumero and Daniel Eduardo Montilla Fumero.
