Arthur Fillmore Burriss Sr. was born on May 21,1933 one of 4 children born to Thomas Harvey Burriss Sr. and Audith Corey Momyer-Burriss. Fill, as everyone knew him, departed quietly in his sleep on February 6, 2017 and is proceeded by his parents, his step-mother Helen Josephine Momyer-Burriss who raised him most of his life, his brother, Thomas Harvey Burriss Jr., sister Audith Corey (Fanny) Burriss-Thomas, sister Nellie May Burriss-Bolton, and grandson Fernando Alberto Guzman Jr. Fill is survived by his first wife, Elaine Parker-Burriss, his second wife, Nancy George, and his seven children. Cynthia Sue Burriss-Sutton (William), Arthur Fillmore Burriss Jr. (Pamela), Thomas Dorsey Burriss Sr. (Donna), David Louis Burriss (Krissen), Michael Robert Burriss Sr.(Sandra), Patrice Carol Burriss-Hinson (Eugene), and Laura Jeanne Burriss-Guzman (Fernando). Along with his children, Fill is survived by 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews that span the world. Fill touched many lives with his humor, his quick mind, and his love of life. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. good food, poker, a competitive game of pool, long trips driving his bus, but most of all, he loved large family gatherings. The family would like to thank each and every one of you for attending and invite you to join us on the 14th after services.
