Mrs. Evelyn Nalesnik, daughter of the deceased Stanley and Mary Kmiec, unexpectedly passed away at home on Saturday, January 21, 2017. She was 80 years old. Mrs. Nalesnik was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on June 14, 1936 where she spent her youth and formative years. Mrs. Nalesnik was predeceased by her devoted and supportive husband of 53 years, Dr. Richard P. Nalesnik Sr. Mrs. Nalesnik was a devout Catholic and long-time member of St. Pius X Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister in Bowie, Maryland. She also loved polka music, which she listened to on Saturday morning radio. She loved to dance with Richard, her favorite polka partner whom she met at a polka dance 61 years ago and who became her partner in life and on the dance floor ever since that meeting. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling all over the world and cruising with Richard. Although, her most rewarding interest was spending time with her family & friends. She is survived by her 5 children: Cheryl Gorsky (Edward) of Frederick, MD; Richard Peter Nalesnik, Jr. of Poolesville, MD; Christopher Nalesnik (Tracey) of Owings, MD; Matthew Nalesnik (Betsy) of Cary, NC; and Elizabeth Nalesnik Harman of Annapolis, MD. She is also survived by her sister Bernadette Way (David) of Southbury, CT. She is predeceased by her brothers Richard and Edward, as well as her infant sister, Anna Kmiec. Mrs. Nalesnik is survived by her 18 grandchildren: Steven, Edward, Emily and Carolyn Gorsky; Ryan, Meghan, Abigail, and Allison Nalesnik; Brian Nalesnik and Jennifer Fowler; Carolyn Jones and Ellie Chiurco; Michael, Timothy, Sean, and Jeffrey Nalesnik; Benjamin and Nathan Sanders; and 4 great grandchildren, Julianna Gorsky, Bradlee Nalesnik, Jarrett Fowler, and Charlotte Jones. She is predeceased by 1 grandchild, Stephanie Gorsky. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Mary Bryce and Barbara Nalesnik, and loving nieces and nephews Sheri Dye, Peter Bryce, II, Bernard James Nalesnik, Jr., Catherine Nalesnik, Beth Laneve, and Eric Batchelor.
