Antoine “Tony” Delity was born in Salamanca, NY, in 1953, a proud son of Josef and Barbara. He was the younger brother of Joseph (Paula), Adam (Norma), and Ludwig (Barbara). He attended Ellicottville Central High School and SUNY Oswego University, graduating with a degree in Mathematics Education. Tony served three years in the Peace Corps in Swaziland, Africa, and taught mathematics at Hlatikulu Central High School before beginning his teaching career in Prince George’s County, Maryland. At G. Gardner Shugart Junior High and DuVal High School, he taught math and was also Director of Athletics. In 1995, he was named Athletic Director of the Year for the State of Maryland. Later Tony was Technology Coordinator at DuVal, Annapolis Road Academy, and RICA Cheltenham. Dedicated and hard-working, detail-oriented, reliable, straight-forward, and a “true gentleman" are words that mean Tony. Even though Tony was from NY State, he became a dedicated fan of the University of Maryland sports program (a requirement of his wife’s family). He also was a fan of the Capitals. Tony had a passion for gardening, cooking, traveling, sports, and bowling. He was treasurer of Derbyshire Home Owners’ Association, and he and Lisa were the principals behind the Memorial to the Lost project for Heeding God’s Call Greater Washington. He was looking forward to retiring, asailing up the Amazon, and traveling to many different places as well as to perfecting his gardening, and cooking in his new kitchen. He was married to Lisa Miller Delity for 25 great years filled with laughter, friends, family, travel, sports (GO TERPS!), and lots of love. They shared their home with their beloved pug, Little Terp.
