Anthony Beauford Hudson, Jr., affectionately known as Tony, son of the late Anthony Beauford Hudson, Sr. and Bernice Hudson Greenhouse, was born on July 17, 1940 in Washington, D.C. Tony was the eldest of two siblings. Tony was educated in the District of Columbia Public School System, graduating from Spingarn High School in 1958. After graduation, Tony proudly served his country in the United States Air Force (USAF) where he continued his education, earning a degree from the University of Maryland. After completing several tours of duty in Europe, he retired from the USAF with twenty (20) years of honorable service. He continued his career working in the Federal government in the intelligence community, for the National Security Agency. After an accumulation of forty (40) plus years in the workforce, Tony decided to retire once and for all and pursue other interests.Tony was married to Irene "Jill" (Watson) Hudson (deceased) and of this union, two daughters were born: Saundra Gillian (deceased) and Inga Irene. Jill passed away when the girls were young. Years later he met Phyllis "Pippa", they fell in love and married thirty (30) years ago. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. Tony and Pippa were inseparable. They loved to travel within the United States (U.S.) and abroad to maintain close family ties and relationships with lifelong friends. In fact, they maintained dual residences in the U.S. and Europe for many years so they could remain close to family and friends in both locations. They also shared a passion for cross country travel in their recreational vehicle (RV). They would often hop in the RV and meet up with a host of friends who were equally adventurous. During these travels, Tony would capture everything on film - even the simplest moments were photographed because he wanted to memorialize these experiences for years to come.Tony passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 25, 2016, in the City of Palm Coast, Florida where he resided. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Bernice, his sister, Saundra Hudson, his daughter, Saundra Gillian Hudson, and his stepfather, Eugene Greenhouse. He leaves behind his faithful wife Pippa, loving daughter Inga (Michael) Dawson, step-daughter Anita (Phillip) Chester, grandchildren Veronica Cousin, Delrease and Delonte Tibbs, Michael and Dayna Bennett, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, other relatives and friends.
