Walter L. Kraus

Walter Ludwig Kraus (Age 87) Born in Cleveland, OH, passed on his birthday December 14, 2016. Predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth, he is survived by son, Mark Kraus (Doris), and daughters Theresa Kraus (John King), Kathleen Luthy (Alan), and Rebecca Kraus (Andres Saavedra), and granddaughters Christine Syfrett, Tamara Luthy, Elizabeth Kraus, Helen Flores, and Alice Kraus. Drafted into the Marine Corps, he proudly served his country during the Korean War. A graduate of Kent State and John Carroll Universities, he worked for the federal government for 32 years, retiring in 1989 as the command historian for the Air Force Systems Command. Friends and family can gather at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 1940 Mitchellville Road, Bowie, MD, on December 22, for a 12 pm viewing and a 1 pm mass. Interment will follow at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.
