Lillian “Legs” Pine Flanders of Bowie, Md died on December 3, 2016 at her residence in Bowie, Md. She was born on November 29, 1920 in Auburn, N.Y. Lillian was the second youngest of 10 children born to Alfredo and Marianna Pianosi. She was married to Russell Flanders, Jr, of Weare, NH who died September 3, 1987. Following her military service in World War II, where she received the rank of Captain, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from New England College in Henniker, NH. In addition to being an excellent writer and editor, Lillian had a fulfilling career in the banking industry. But, her real passion was golf, which she continued to play into her 90s. Lillian is survived by her three daughters, Cathy Flanders of Crofton, Md, Susan Flanders ( Michael Scrivens) and Cynthia Flanders (Frederick Jaworski) , both of Kensington, Md, and two grandchildren, Molly Scrivens of Boston, MA, and Russell Scrivens of Silver Spring, MD, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 4:00 pm on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Beall’s Funeral Home at 6512 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD.
