On Wednesday November 2nd 2016, Rose Gibson Montgomery, PhD., died on Kent Island, where she resided with her daughter Leilani McGrath and son in law, Timothy P. McGrath. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years (formerly of Bowie MD), William G. Montgomery, who awaited her in Heaven. Her last five months were joy filled as she was surrounded by her dear family of three generations. All who knew her, and especially her loving family, truly enjoyed time spent with Rose. She was 'Teacher of the Year' in Prince George’s County, Md. in 1993 and is highlighted in Women of Distinction in Maryland for her contributions to education. She passed peacefully into the hands of our Lord. Rose is survived by a loving family which includes her two daughters, Pamela Janeese Ciliberti of Frederick, MD and Leilani Rose McGrath of Stevensville, MD. and their husbands respectively; Barrie S. Ciliberti and Timothy P. McGrath; eight grandchildren: Rudolph T. Henkel, Leilani C. Henkel, Rachel N. Ciliberti, Kathryn M. Ciliberti, Timothy P. McGrath II, Jane E. McGrath-Hinds, William K. McGrath, Mathew J. McGrath, and eight great-grandchildren: Meadow Welsh, Nicholas Ciliberti, Colin Welsh, Josephine McGrath, Finnegan McGrath, Sarah Hinds, Nate Lorrance, Ellis McGrath, and Kathryn Hinds. Rose is also survived by her brother Charles Gibson Jr. of Tampa FL. Thanks be to God. We love you ' To the Moon and Back'.
