Barry K. Hummel

Barry Keith Hummel, 73, of Gambrills, Maryland went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2016. Barry was born in Danville, PA., on October 1, 1943.  After graduating from the Palmyra High School in Palmyra, PA, in 1961 he joined the Air Force (1962) and served four years at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland where he was described by his superior as an “outstanding airman….that deserved to be promoted well ahead of his contemporaries.” Barry was marred to Carol on August 2, 1969.  They were married for 47 years Barry was a Real Estate Agent for most of his career.  After leaving real estate he sold 18 wheelers.  He enjoyed collecting high quality model trucks, trailers and earth moving equipment.  He enjoyed southern gospel music and loved going to concerts.  Being a diehard Redskins fan, he rarely missed a game on TV and always found enjoyment in questioning all the play calling and officiating. Barry is survived by his wife Carol.  His sons David (Melissa) and Daniel.  His grandchildren Ashely and Madison, his brother Frank (Marilyn) and other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, Maryland 21093.
