James Henry Lienesch On Monday, August 29. Born in Dayton, Ohio in 1937, Jim was a graduate of the University of Dayton and the University of Wisconsin. He was a 53-year resident of Bowie, MD, who retired from NOAA after 34 years as a research meteorologist. In retirement, Jim volunteered with several community projects and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He traveled widely, sang with the Bowie Senior Chorale, and enjoyed golfing with friends. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Bette, sons Steven, Douglas (Jane), John (Maura), and Philip; grandchildren Ryan and Anna, Ben and Molly, and Jack; brothers Dick (Helen), and Bill (Deborah); sister-in-law Carolyn Mueller; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lucille Lienesch. Family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, September 2 at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 3 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 14720 Annapolis Rd., Bowie, MD. Interment will occur at a later date.
