Fred W. Ryder, Jr.

It is with great sadness that I’m informing you on the passing of Fred W. Ryder Jr, PGA. He was born on May 7th 1939 in Leesburg Virginia and died on August 12th 2016 in his home in Bowie Maryland at the age of 77. Fred began his career as an Assistant Golf Professional at Dorado Beach Golf & Resort Club in Puerto Rico under Head Golf Professional and PGA Touring Professional Chi Chi Rodriguez from 1968 – 1974. In 1974 Fred started working at Bel Air Country Club in Bowie Maryland under Head Golf Professional Bill Deck until 1977. Where he then became Head Golf Professional at Bel Air County Club presently known as Bowie Golf Club from 1977 – 2014. Fred is survived by his wife, Madelaine Ryder of Bowie MD.; Daughter, Marlene Ryder of Fort Mill SC; Son, Fred Ryder III, PGA of Odenton MD; Grandchildren, Genevieve Ryder, Vivianna Ryder, Fred Ryder IV of Odenton MD; Brothers, Don Ryder, PGA of Hot Springs VA and Rick Ryder, PGA of Florence SC.  Family will receive friends on Thursday August 18th 2016 at the, BEALL FUNERAL HOME 6512 N.W. Crain Highway (Rt. 3 South) Bowie MD, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. With a celebration of life to follow at Walden Country Club, 1500 Riedel Road, Crofton MD, from 7:30pm – 9:30pm.
