Bonnie Sue Heckner was born September 2, 1948. She was one of two daughters of Marvin and Lillian Drechsler. Bonnie graduated from DuVal High School in Lanham, Maryland and in 1970 graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Bonnie loved art and taught middle school students in Prince Georges and Anne Arundel Counties for 36 years. In 1989 Bonnie married John Heckner. Together they enjoyed spending time with friends, taking cruises, traveling to Ocean City, and spending time with their six grandchildren. Bonnie loved cooking and entertaining friends and family. She was famous for her lasagna, corned beef and cabbage, pies, and pound cake. She also loved crafting and spent countless hours at craft shows, and making wreaths, ornaments, and photo albums. Bonnie is survived by her husband, John Heckner, sister Carole Patton, children and their spouses Chris and Carmen Graves, Jamie and Mandy Graves, Terri and Marty McConville. and six grandchildren, Kelsey, Brodie, Ryder, Colin, Rex, and Lance.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The American Stroke Foundation. http://americanstroke.org
