John’s Bio: Born in St. Joseph, LA 3/6/37 to Juanita and Daris Stockstill of Waterproof, LA Graduated from Waterproof HS with 5 Letters in Track, 5 letters in Football 1956 Attended Northwestern State in Natchitoches, LA and was graduated with a Degree in Secondary Education in 1960. Married in 1956 Taught Jr. High math 1960-61 Active Duty 1961 as a commissioned Army ROTC 2 LT 1st assignment Ft. Sill, Oklahoma - 14th Field Artillery Battalion After 2 years went to Munich, Germany Personnel Management Officer 1963-66 taking the family, which included 3 children. Sent to Ft. Bragg, NC in 1966 and went to school to become a Military Assistance Training Advisor Sent to Vietnam where he was an Infantry Advisor who served from 1966 to 1967 Back to the states and went through the Field Artillery Advance Course at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Became an Instructor from ‘68 to ’70 at the Artillery Transport Dept., Ft. Sill 1970-71 deployed to Korea as Supply Logistics Officer 1971 came to Wyoming as National Guard Advisor until 1975 1975 – 1978 assigned as Operations Officer at Ft. Schafter in Hawaii. While there, he completed the required courses nights and weekends to receive two Master’s Degrees - one from Central Michigan University and one from Pepperdine University 1978 assigned to the Pentagon Army Counsel of Review Board of the Army Disability Agency First wife, Nan, passed away from stomach cancer August, 1985 Married Sarah December of 1986. In 1989 he retired from the Pentagon as a Lt.
