Nicholas "Nick" Ruffing, born December 22, 1981, was suddenly called home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2016. Nick attended high school at Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland where he played baseball for the Crusaders as a catcher. He studied at South Eastern Community College, where he also played baseball. Nick loved being a salesman for Capital Meats and had a place in his heart for all of his co-workers. Nick was a die-hard Redskins fan and frequently enjoyed attending football games with his family. Nick is preceded in death by his father, David "Duck" Terrill; his paternal grandfather, Art Terrill; his maternal grandmother, Emily Ruffing; and his maternal grandfather, Raymond "Rail Road" Ruffing. Nick is survived by his mother, Debra Ruffing; his sister, Kimberly Mills; his brother, Robert Mills; his paternal grandmother, Alice Terrill; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Nick's memorial service will be open to the public. We ask that you please honor Nick's love for the Redskins by wearing burgundy and gold or a Redskins jersey. Nicholas was dressed in a suit for every occasion except football games. Please feel free to honor him this way, as well.
