George Thomas Estry, was born in Washington DC on November 30, 1949, He grew up with his Mother, Elva Estry, a sister Patricia , and another sister Jean H. Estry II. Our father had been gone from our household when we were very young. Our mom raised us by herself. George grew much like every other child. We came home when the street lights came on. The village raised all of us, so we had to be careful what we did. George went to St. Bernard's Catholic elementary school, then DeMatha High School, and Prince George Community Collage until he turned 18 years old. He and his friend Bobby Burkhammer joined the Army. It was the Viet Nam war that was going on. Back then a tour in the Army was a year. He was in the 101st. Airborne. A Screaming Eagle, Charlie company, Black Widow. He was so proud. He made is way up to Sgt. When his tour ended, he decided he needed to do another tour. Our Neighbor Barry Smith was in Viet Nam the same time, and he was killed. My brother was flying over the spot he wrote Barry's mother. He was exposed to Agent Orange and talked about in newspapers etc. When he came home he went to Maryland University and is a BIG Terp fan. He had a long time friend who had been his friend for many, many years. Mike Bjork. He still remain his friend as does his family. George went to work for the Veterans of Foreign Affairs. He helped Veterans with their cases and traveled all over teaching how to do it. He made many friends at his job and many of them also remained his friend. To his dying day he loved his country and his family and friends.George remained friends with many of his fellow workers and school friends. He loved each and everyone of them. I know they miss him.He was a very good friend to all, a excellent son, and a good brother. He was very generous and would leave little gifts laying around for you to find. He would not say a word. He Married Kim and they had a daughter named Tonya. He loved them both. Kim was murdered and things happened. He later married Constance. But Tonya was the love of his life.Tonya is now Tonya Estry LeBrun. She kept her name Estry as I kept my maiden name Estry. She has two sons, Jesse Estry and John Blake Lebrun. George Loves her husband Tommy, and loves and adores his two grandsons, Jesse, and John Blake. He would like to hide money for them. One thing about George is you never knew if he was joking with you or serious. He had the weird sense of humor that everyone liked. His home became the Marina when he got his boat. His friends there are many and he loved those guys. They dupped him "The Mayor of the Midway". He liked that.I always admired my brother as I found over the years he did not judge people, he was kind and fair. I always looked to him for advice on thing but did not always follow it. We were in touch all the time. There are so many things he has done and I just can not name them all. I know he will be missed by everyone who he came in contact with. We will always remember.
