?On February 22, 2016, ROBERTA (Bobbie) KAY WENTLAND (nee MANECKE) of Odenton, Maryland died in an automobile accident. She was the daughter of the late Robert Manecke and Gladys Eckerd of Toledo, Ohio. She leaves her spouse of 56 years, Fred; two children, Kathy (Phil) Lyng of Scottsdale, Arizona and Dan Wentland of Owings Mills, Maryland; six grandchildren, Kristen (Mark) McClellan, Erin Lyng, Jonathan (McKenzie) Lyng, Melissa Lyng, Kelly Lyng, and Amy Lyng; and a great-grandchild (Emily McClellan). She was raised at 1425 Glenview Road in Toledo by her Mother (Gladys), Aunt Adelaide Smart, and Grandparents Oscar and Betty Lane. She graduated from Libbey High School in Toledo. She married Fred in 1959 after which she had Kathy in Clovis, New Mexico, and Dan in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was the driving force in supporting Fred in his 23-year career in the Air Force including his work on Apollo 11, 27 years with the Federal government's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and 8 years with Freedom Technologies Incorporated (FTI). Her greatest attributes to life was loving and supporting Fred, her family, her church, and her friends. She was the most friendly and loving person. She loved to get her hair and nails done and could shop forever. Once you met her, you would never forget her. She was a touchy-feeling-hugging person. She will be missed by all. Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Highway (Route 3 South), Bowie, MD from 1 to 5pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 11am followed with a lunch at All Saints Lutheran Church, 16510 Mount Oak Road, Bowie, MD (Website: www.allsaintsbowie.org).
