After her husband's death in 1991 and her mother's death in 1992, she successfully managed her farm as well as her parents' farm until her mid 90's. She was always a good business woman and kept detailed records on the farms' operations. She also had a real estate license. She enjoyed studying Scripture, reading and growing flowers. She constantly had many English Boxwood bushes in growth and grew some of the boxwoods that are on the White House and Lincoln Memorial grounds. The primary force in her life was her salvation through Jesus Christ and her zealous efforts to grow in her walk with Him and to influence others to accept Him. She spared no energy in pursuing that goal. She attended Cedarville Assembly of God in Brandywine and was the church's oldest member.
