James A. Bath, (Age 72) of Bowie, MD passed away on January 19, 2016. He was born in Darby, PA on December 30, 1943 to the late Albert J. Bath and Elsa K. Sulzer Bath.He graduated from Mount St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg, MD in 1966. Shortly thereafter, he began working with the federal government in Vietnam during the war. While he was overseas, James taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in Laos and also met his beloved wife, Kim, in Thailand. He retired from the federal government after 40 years of dedicated service, 31 of those years with the Department of Justice, Tax Division. He then continued his love of teaching and became an ESL, GED, and EvenStart teacher for the Prince George's County Education System and the Bricklayers Union.Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he was an avid Eagles, Phillies and 76ers fan. He was also a true sports aficionado. He loved bowling from a very young age and was a current member of the Saturday night foursome bowling league in Crofton, MD. James made friends everywhere he went. He changed people's lives for the better, inspired his students, loved his family, was an amazing father, wonderful husband, and an incredible human being. He fought for the underdog and stood up for the little guy. His kind spirit and giving nature will never be forgotten.He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kim Lieng Bath, his son Justin Bath, and his daughter Lisa Bath. He was predeceased by brother Donald Bath and sister Marjorie Bath Dillon.
